Our Welcome Days will guide you through all "need to know" and "nice to know" information on Belgium, Leuven and our university of applied sciences. From a warm welcome at our campus to a city tour in which you can get to know your fellow students a little better; this week will ensure a one of a kind start of your stay with us.

Welcome Days 2024
- 16-20 September, 2024. For whom: all students enrolled to English-taught programmes (degree, exchange, short courses).
- The schedule of activities and the registration link is available below. Please register before September 8, 23:59 CEST.
Preparatory Days 2024
- 12-13 September 2024. For whom: degree students of the English-taught programmes International Business Management, Marketing (track in Belgium) and Applied Computer Science (those who are coming to study in a Leuven for a 3 year bachelor programme). The information about programme-specific activities on September 12-13 and the registration link will follow via e-mail.
We strongly recommend all students to arrive in Leuven at the beginning of September to settle down with no rush. Need a short term stay option till the date your rental contract starts? Check here (book far in advance).

The registration for the Welcome Days is compulsory. Please fill in the registration form before September 8, 23:59 CEST. The schedule below is still under construction, check for updates regularly.
Monday, September 16
09:00 - 11:00 Breakfast in Pangaea by ESN Leuven, 4 Euro (to be paid on the spot in cash or by card)
11:30 - 12:30 Arriving to campus Proximus, block D (bus 4, 5, 6, 630, bus stop Haasrode UCLL). Check-in.
12:30 - 17:00 Welcome Days Kick-Off at campus Proximus. Our students will share first-hand tips about living in Leuven, you will meet student associations, will learn a bit of Dutch in a funny way, will meet your classmates and picture this exciting moment in a photobooth, will help yourself with Belgian fries, and many-many more...
20:00 Social evening by UCLL student association Amani @ Downtown Jack
Tuesday, September 17
10:30 - 11:00 Arriving to campus Proximus, block C, check-in.
11:00 - 15:00 Info-fair. You will meet important actors of the city of Leuven who will provide you with some helpful practicalities: health insurance company CM, the city hall of Leuven, our super friendly student police officers. You will also meet the students services of UCLL (sport, bus pass, well-being, culture, etc.), our ICT team (digital environment of UCLL, Intranet, student account, etc.), international office (guidance of Erasmus students), admissions and registrations team, students ambassadors. During the info-fair, there will be 2 moments to collect your student card.
15:00 - 17:00 Student stuff market by LOKO at Alma 2
20:00 - 00:00 Pub Crawl by ESN Leuven. Register here. The meeting point will be sent to registered students by email.
20:30 Social Game 'Four of a kind' by LOKO at Pangaea (no pre-registration needed)
Wednesday, September 18
13:00 - 14:30 Tickets sale for the international party on Friday by LOKO. Location: Campus Social Sciences (next to Pangaea)
Visiting Coureur microbrewery with beer tasting. The registration is compulsory, the number of participants is limited. The cost is 10 Euro.
13:45 Group 1, meeting point LijnWinkel, places available (pay on the spot to the student-coordinator, cash, no change)
15:15 Group 2, meeting point LijnWinkel, sold-out
18:30 - 19:30 Game Night by Amani and Insignia, student associations of UCLL. Meeting point Grote Markt (in front of the old city hall). No registration needed.
Thursday, September 19
09:30 - 12:00 Infosession for exchange students Management (room C101) and exchange students IT (room tbc). Location: Campus Proximus
15:30 - 17:00 "How to cycle safely in Leuven" - cycling tour by VELO. The registration is compulsory, the number of participants is limited. The cost is 11.5 Euro. Places available (pay on the spot to the student-coordinator at VELO shop, cash, no change)
Friday, September 20
09:30-13:00 (doors open at 09:00) Kick-off day of the programme for the degree students Bachelor International Business Management - Marketing (track in Belgium and track across Europe). @ Campus Proximus
22:00 Famous International Party by LOKO, location Alma 2. Tickets sale: see the info above (on Wednesday). Buying tickets on the spot is possible but they can be sold-out soon (fyi).
Saturday, September 21
20:00 - 23:30 City Game by ESN Leuven. Register here. The meeting point will be sent to the registered students via email.
Monday, September 23
10:00 - 12:00 Info session for PIEC (Postgraduate International Educating Class) and exchange students Teacher Education. Location: campus Hertogstraat, room E111.
10:00 - 12:00 Info session for exchange students Social Work. Location: campus Social School, room A4.04.
12:00 - 14:30 Info session for Advanced Bachelor Advanced Business Management (track Design Thinking & Innovation and track International Management) followed by the Crash Course at 15:00 - 17:00. Location: campus Hertogstraat, room - tbc.
