Studying with a recognised status

Studying as a top athlete, artist, carer, entrepreneur, working student or student with a disability? At UCLL, you are entitled to a special statute which provides you with educational and examination facilities.

Facilities make it possible to combine your studies with a sport that you practice at a high level, caring for someone close to you, a disability, your own business, a job or your artistic activities. This may involve flexible deadlines, adapted arrangements with regard to absences, extra time during an exam or, in certain cases, spreading the exams. The facilities are always granted by Student Services and in light of your study programme.

You can apply for your statute via the tab "Registration and Application" on the KU office. You must support your application with the necessary documents. The student services or assessment committee for the statute concerned will receive your application. They handle your file discreetly in accordance with the code of ethics. You can always obtain information or advice about your situation in advance; you will find the contact details for each statute on the web page concerned.

Studying with a disability

Studying with a disability does not have to be an obstacle at UCLL. We stand for an inclusive policy, where possible. You may be eligible for educational or examination facilities on the basis of the student with a disability status. Below you can find how all this works and how we can help you.

Student athlete status

UCLL offers the necessary facilities and flexibility for students with the status of athlete to pursue their sport at the highest level while continuing with their studies.

Student-entrepreneur

Are you thinking of starting your own business? Or have you already started one?
StartMinds nudges entrepreneurship in the right direction!

Student-artist

Are you active as an artist and does this have an impact on your studies? You may be eligible for the status of student-artist.

Student-Caregiver

Do you provide extra support for a person in need in your immediate environment? Is the care you provide difficult to combine with your studies? You may be eligible for the student status of informal caregiver and make use of a number of facilities.

Working student

Do you combine your studies with a job of at least 80 hours a month? Then you may be eligible for the status of UCLL work student. This status can provide you with facilities to help you combine studying with your job.
