Virtual Hackathon Hack the Waste

Imagine that in a span of just 24 hours, you're tasked to create within an "interdisciplinary" team a new approach to waste management. Who knows your proposal convinces investors and may even open new doors for your career.

Then you don't want to miss "hack the waste 2025"
Hack the Waste is a high-energy, 24-hour online hackathon where you’ll join forces with students from around the world to solve a real waste management challenge. Working in international, interdisciplinary teams, you’ll have the chance to innovate and create impactful solutions for pressing waste issues. The hackathon kicks off with an introduction to the challenge, setting you up to brainstorm, collaborate, and present your ideas to drive sustainable change.
When?
Starting on March 21st, 2025 at noon (12:00 Leuven time) until March 22nd, 2025 at noon (an exciting 24 hours!)
Students from:
- Belgium (UCLL)
- the Netherlands (HAN Hogeschool)
- South Africa (ITversity Belgium Campus)
- Latvia (Riga BA Business School of Finance)
- Brasil (UNESP university & Grupo Integrado)
- Denmark (UCN)
A 24-hour online meeting with participants from the different partner countries:
- establishing connections with members of an international team with the chosen tools
- intermediate assistance by the tutors
- final pitch presentations for the committee
- announcing the winners and the awards ceremony
Registration
Participation is free! However we expect participants to be motivated and prepared to deliver valuable contribitions to their team.
