Student athlete status | UCLL

Within UCLL, there are three types of athlete statuses: A, B and C. Each of these statuses entitles you to a number of facilities. Based on your application, the evaluation committee will grant you one of these statuses or deny the application. Students who have been awarded an A status will have more facilities at their disposal than students with a B or C status.

The subdivision into the various statuses is based on a number of criteria. These criteria have to do with the discipline, the number of training hours, the level of competition (national or international top), opportunities for growth to a successful international career, competition and training camp calendars, an evenly balanced programme or peak performance periods and the content and level of a ((semi-)professional) contract.

Facilities at your disposal depending  on the status granted (A, B or C):

  • Option to change class group
  • Legitimate absence during mandatory classes or practical sessions
  • Rescheduling or spreading internship activities
  • Spreading of examinations inside (or outside) the examination period
